Dan grew up in Southern California and Northern Iowa, graduating from high school in Northwood, Iowa. He attended Minnesota State University at Mankato, receiving a B. A. in International Relations in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1985 as an Infantry Officer/Special Forces Officer at Fort Benning, GA; Presidio of Monterey, CA; Fort Bragg, NC; and Fort Jackson, SC. He left the Army in 1985 to pursue a M. Div. at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, which he received in May 1989. He was ordained by the South Carolina Synod in June 1989 and served Incarnation Lutheran Church, Columbia, SC, as interim associate pastor until re-entering the Army as Chaplain in January 1990. Dan served in the Army Chaplain Corps at Fort Riley, KS; Fort Monmouth, NJ; and Fort Bragg, NC, retiring in May 1996, after receiving a Bronze Star during the Gulf War. He was called as Pisgah's Pastor in May 1996.
Dan is a Lutheridge Campfirmation Cluster Leader. He is a member of the Saxe-Gotha Conference Rostered Leaders Association and Pisgah’s Book Club. In 2009 he received a Master's Degree in Sacred Theology from Southern Seminary.
He is married to Terri Bacon, a paralegal with the McNair Law Firm in Columbia, SC, and their daughter, Carson, is an employment/litigation attorney with the Hunter MacLean law firm in Savannah, Georgia.
Deborah was born and raised in Leesville, S. C. She attended Batesburg-Leesville High School and Winthrop College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Social Work. She attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, received a Master of Arts in Religion, and was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry on September 20, 1993.
Deborah served as the Associate in Ministry at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in West Columbia for 12 years before coming to Pisgah in August, 2005.
Deborah currently serves as the chairperson of the Synod’s Learning Ministry Committee, and is a Synod Christian Education Network Coordinator.
She is married to Steve Poole and they live in Lexington with their two cats, Rambo and Zoom.
Tony Roof serves as Minister of Music at Pisgah. His duties include directing the Chancel, Spirit Song, and Handbell Choirs, organist, and service planning. He is currently the webmaster for Pisgah and has served at Pisgah on Church Council, Chair of Music and Worship committee and Sunday School teacher.
Tony is very active in the Association of Lutheran Musicians of South Carolina where he has served as President since 1992 and has been responsible for bringing numerous nationally recognized artists and lecturers into the state. He is also currently the coordinator for the 2013 Region IV convention of the American Guild of Organist.
He has served in the past as Dean of the American Guild of Organists, Greater Columbia Chapter, and as District Convener of South Carolina for the guild.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Newberry College and is a manager of Roof Basket Works.
Wanda Addy is our Parish Administrator. She joined the Pisgah Family in February 2004 after working for twenty years in automotive accounting, where she served as Office Manager, Human Resources Manager and Internal Auditor for some of the larger automotive groups in the area.
Wanda and her husband Paul have lived in Lexington since 1987 and have two children. Her son, Jason, attends the University of South Carolina and daughter, Lauren, attends Lexington High School.
Wanda is a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia where she has served on various congregational committees and currently serves as WELCA Treasurer.
As a cancer survivor, Wanda is very active in local cancer awareness programs. She is a member of the planning committee for the Lexington County Relay for Life and the Colorectal Cancer Awareness Walk.
Wanda enjoys knitting, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
