The youth of
Pisgah enjoy fellowship and Christian learning through the following ministries:
SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:40 AM For youth of all ages.
It is designed to be a time of learning, growing and nurturing faith in children. Youth meet weekly at 9:40 am. for Bible stories, crafts, and relationship-building. Each class is led by experienced Christian leaders.
Junior and Senior High classes offer youth the opportunity to dig into Scripture and apply it to their lives. There is discussion and active participation.
CONFIRMATION
As Lutherans, confirmation is woven into the fabric of our being. This is a time of instruction in areas covered by Luther's Small Catechism. Students discuss worship, prayer, the Creed, sacraments, and much more. There is also an opportunity to attend Campfirmation at Lutheridge.
Confirmation at Pisgah is for students in grades 6-8. It is led by Pastor Dan and Mrs. Deborah, and involves other adults as well.
8th graders affirm their baptism on Pentecost Sunday.
PISGAH LCY
As provides a structure through which youth at Pisgah can find a common identity as younger members of the Church and Body of Christ, support each other as they live out their commitment to Christ Jesus, seek to strengthen their leadership abilities, and
assist each other in expressing their Christian faith through worship, learning, fellowship, witness, service.
The LCY is open to youth in grades 6-12. They participate in various social and service events throughout the month.
Youth work together on many of their projects and events.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
is not just red Kool-Aid and cookies -- at Pisgah we strive to not only bring youth the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but do it in a fun, interactive way. This summer program incorporates learning about doing God’s work in the world with hands-on opportunities. This is all done in an evening format. VBS is a great entry point for youth who have no church home, and a good time for our youth to invite their friends.
BOY SCOUTS
Provides educational programs for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. Open to boys ages 10 through
18, and meets on Monday evening. For more information, contact Scoutmaster Sue Eleazer.
